Since CloudM's adoption back in 2003 of a fully functional Broadworks platform from Broadsoft to deliver CloudM's Hosted Telephony Services to our clients. Our Broadsoft platform was one of the first deployed in the UK.

CloudM and BroadSoft has focused on developing and delivering software-based voice applications. BroadWorks, is a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) applications platform that enables CloudM to deliver basic and enhanced voice services for business and residential end users. As the leading Application Server for IP-Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) environments, BroadWorks services are network agnostic, therefore offering our clients expanded service reach, fixed-mobile convergence (FMC), streamlined application integration, and operational cost savings.

With an extensive range of features, BroadWorks enables us to offer a differentiated set of communication services that range from media-oriented services such as Voice Messaging, Conferencing, and Auto Attendant, to personal calling functions such as Selective Call Forwarding, Simultaneous Ringing, and dial-by-name. Applying these features across multiple delivery networks from ADSL to Leased Lines and multi end devices this opens us up to an added dimension of innovation.

In addition to offering a converged service environment, BroadWorks addresses an additional set of problems inherent in traditional networks. Using the web, BroadWorks provides a high-servicing component between CloudM and the customer. User control and configuration is provided via a standard web portal that augments basic phone functionality to make existing services (for example, Conference Calling and Call Forwarding) easier to use, and new services easier to deploy. For example, a CloudM BroadWorks user can selectively forward calls from an office phone to a mobile phone with a few clicks on a web page or wireless personal digital assistant (PDA). Previously, with Centrex-like services, such a service would require a highly complex and time-consuming procedure for the user.

The CloudM BroadWorks platform operates on a standards-based, modular architecture that uses common protocols (such as Session Initiation Protocol [SIP]), open interfaces, and scalable, industry-standard hardware. The BroadWorks open environment enables us, to rapidly introduce new services and launch new applications.

Our BroadWorks platform provides user services, administrative features, and media-based functionality from a standards-based service delivery platform. Also our BroadWorks system functionality is distributed across multiple servers for optimised performance and to meet IMS specifications.

Hosted PBX Features

A strong set of business telephony features is essential to a Unified Communications offer. From simple “find me/follow me” functionality that will simultaneously ring to fixed mobile convergence applications to making and receiving business calls on personal mobile devices, CloudM’s calling features are tied directly to the business dial plan. CloudM integrates seamlessly with advanced telephony features including Call Centre and ACD , as well as front office applications like Auto Attendant and Receptionist.

SIP Trunking

Many enterprises from large to small have an installed base of legacy PBXes. CloudM SIP trunking capabilities extend to PBX users allowing the business to take advantage of UC without incurring the cost of changing their existing infrastructure until the time is right. CloudM’s interoperable technology works with all major PBXes, ensuring that UC and other advanced services, like Call Centre and Auto Attendants, can uniquely overlay on top of any network architecture for simplified deployments and major cost saving.

Instant Messaging and Presence

The most popular Unified Communications feature, Instant Messaging and Presence or IM&P allows employees to quickly check the presence status of coworkers and decide how best to communicate. The Presence indicator is dynamically updated using phone and calendar status so it is always accurate. It even displays extended presence to include location and time zone information details to help users gauge the best time to reach on-the-go colleagues . Users can engage anyone in the company and get answers in an instant by sending message from the CloudM Telephony app.

Desktop & File Sharing

CloudM's Desktop & File Sharing application facilitates the free and fast flow of information critical to effective decision-making. Desktop sharing allows users to see and share presentations, spreadsheets, and other media from any location across any network. CloudM's file push capability speeds up workflows and fosters collaboration in the workplace. Simply drag and drop files into the CloudM's app to share documents and avoid any email firewall size limitations.

Video Collaboration

Face to face interaction has been proven to help participants better understand information and reduce the amount of time spent in meetings. CloudM's Video Collaboration offers multi-party voice and video collaboration to bring remote workers and disparate sites together quickly and easily, with one simple click. Connect up to 32 simultaneous participants with our Collaborate Servers, or use industry standard Telepresence systems to connect larger meetings.

CloudM - My Room

My Room is a unique feature that combines Unified Communications tools into a single virtual “room” and eliminates the need to send cumbersome bridge numbers and pass codes. Every user has My Room – making it easy for groups to meet, chat, share desktops, and talk with voice and video. My Room includes moderator controls to mute and dismiss participants to keep meetings on track.
